Vanuatu’s Corporate sector recognizes tourism’s role in Vanuatu’s economy

 

The recent commitment of sponsors supporting the upcoming TOK TOK event signals a clear recognition from Vanuatu business’s that tourism is a big player in their future.

 With the Major – Platinum Level Sponsorship secured by ANZ Bank Vanuatu, Unelco have signed on as a Gold sponsor, recognizing the role tourism plays in its business income.

 In responding to the Unelco commitment, Mrs. Kalpoi, General Manager of the VTO explained that tourism provides so much business opportunity to the broader business economy of Vanuatu. She further added that “the services which the tourism industry contracts in manufacturing, utilities, goods, services and labor represent a major portion of the cash flow in our current economy.

Mrs. Kalpoi was pleased to have Unelco’s commitment to the Tourism industry through TOK TOK and in doing so, acknowledging the role the tourism sector has played in the financial success of Unelco over the years.

Mrs. Kalpoi added that there were other major sponsors who have long recognized the role of the tourism sector in there business success and many of these remain constant supporters of both the Tourism industry and TOK TOK 2006. These include Vanuatu Brewing, Air Vanuatu, Air Caledonia, Virgin Blue, Air Pacific, Iririki Island Resort, Destination Pacific Islands, Adventures in Paradise, Le Lagon Resort, Le Meridian Resort and The Melanesian Hotel.

The TOK TOK event is being held at Snorkelers Cove, Iririki Island Resort and Spa on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of October.

The official opening will be presided over by the Minister of Commerce and Trade, Hon, James Bule and the Managing Director of ANZ Vanuatu, Mr. Mike Flower.
